In Nara deer are sacred and a large number roam the park where some of the city's key historic sights are located. They even sell shiki sembei or deer cracker for people to feed the deer. These crackers are specially formulated to be a health snake for the deers. However the deer are quite clever and someone who possesses such crackers is in danger of being swamped by deer.
